A New Era for Wine and Spirits in Destin
Total Wine & More has made a splash in Destin with its impressive selection of wines, spirits, and beers. Located in the former Big Lots space at the Shoppes at Paradise Isle, the store offers an extensive range of products that cater to all tastes and budgets. The grand opening on July 24 was preceded by a soft opening on July 18 and a preview party on July 23, which included gift card giveaways and other exciting activities.
The response from customers has been overwhelming, according to Zachary Schweitzer, the store manager. He noted that the store has exceeded expectations, with a wide variety of products available to meet customer needs. Total Wine & More boasts 8,000 wines, 4,500 spirits, and 2,500 beers, making it the largest retailer of wine and liquor in the country, surpassing even Costco.
Expanding the Experience
This is the 283rd location for Total Wine & More, with the closest one being in Pensacola. The Destin facility spans 27,000 square feet, offering a vast selection that rivals a large supermarket. Schweitzer described the store as “like a Publix with nothing but alcohol,” emphasizing its unique appeal.
Customers are often amazed by the variety of labels and products available. While many initially stick to familiar brands, the knowledgeable staff is always ready to guide them toward new and exciting options. Whether customers are looking for high-quality, small-batch wines or well-known brands at competitive prices, Total Wine & More has something for everyone.
Competitive Pricing and Loyalty Programs
One of the key selling points of Total Wine & More is its commitment to affordability. Prices range from $3 to $10,000, ensuring that there’s something for every budget. The store also offers a price match guarantee, so customers can be confident they’re getting the best deal possible.
In addition to competitive pricing, the store provides numerous coupons and discounts. A rewards program allows customers to earn points that can be redeemed for additional savings. For every $50 spent, customers receive a $5 coupon that can be combined with other promotions, further enhancing the value of their purchases.
Community Engagement and Additional Services
Total Wine & More is not just about selling products; it’s also about creating experiences. The store offers wine tastings on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, allowing customers to sample a wide range of beverages. Spirit tastings are also available, as these products don’t spoil easily.
For those interested in learning more about specific drinks, the store hosts themed wine classes. An upcoming tequila class on August 23 at 5 p.m. will include samplings and expert presentations. These events provide an opportunity for customers to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of different types of beverages.
Convenience and Delivery Options
The store operates seven days a week, with extended hours on weekends. Customers can shop from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Total Wine & More also offers delivery through services like DoorDash, though deliveries require someone to be present to receive the package with valid identification.
A Comprehensive Selection
Beyond the main offerings, the store features a cigar room with cigars priced between $3 and $37, most of which come from Nicaragua. There is also a non-alcoholic section for those who prefer spiritless beverages. Additionally, the store accommodates special orders, aiming to fulfill requests whenever possible.
Whether customers are looking for a single bottle or a whole cartload, Total Wine & More ensures a seamless shopping experience. With winery-direct brands from around the world, including local favorites from 30A, California, and Georgia, the store continues to attract a diverse customer base.
