Every few weeks, a Houston food influencer might share an enthusiastic Instagram reel or TikTok video aboutTony’s Italian Delicatessenin Montgomery. The eatery has also often been recognized as one of the top options in the state.and countryHaving used Yelp for several years, this success could be the reason the deli is preparing a third location, which will be the closest one to the Houston inner-Loop yet.

In a statement shared exclusively with MathHotels.com on Thursday evening, Tony’s announced that the restaurant will be located in a 2,000 square-foot area on the ground level of City Place 1 at 1700 City Plaza Dr. in Spring. Employees at the Montgomery and Tomball locations mentioned that the third location seems to be opening “two doors to the right” of the current Sushi Rebel. Tony’s is anticipated to welcome customers during the late summer.

Tony’s is now at the final stage of finalizing a lease agreement with City Place, facilitated by Lindsey McKean from SHOP Companies and Zac Warren from Winthrop Realty Group. This detail is significant because City Place serves as the headquarters for ExxonMobil’s large Houston campus. As per the announcement, Tony’s will gain access to over 20,000 employees and residents who are based in the area.

We are excited to include Tony’s Italian Deli in the City Place shopping mix,” Andrew Giammalva, vice president of CDC Houston, stated. “Their well-known reputation and dedicated customer base highlight their excellent sandwiches, and they offer the exact vibe we aim to have in the neighborhood.

TWTX.Cofirst announced the story that Tony’s was arriving at Spring.

Tony Nicoletta, a native of Brooklyn and experienced in the restaurant industry, launched the first Tony’s in 2014 at 16283 Highway 105 W., located near Lake Conroe, as reported by the Conroe Courier. The establishment eventually went up for sale, and Lori Hutchison acquired it, further developing the concept in 2021 at 24504 Kuykendahl Rd. in Tomball.

Tony’s menu offers a range of sandwiches, including their well-known “Carnegie” which is filled “from end to end.” Additionally, the dessert selection includes Limoncello cake, tiramisu, cannoli, and snickerdoodle cookies.

We appreciate being a part of the City Place community,” Hutchison stated. “We are truly fortunate for the journey that led us here, and collaborating with the City Place team has been a fantastic experience. They have a strong vision and are fully committed to their project.

Tony’s has collected numerous awards and recognitions over time, many of which come from the crowd-sourced review site Yelp:

  • Number 1 position on the Top 100 Restaurants to Dine in 2017
  • Number 1 ranking at the Best Sandwich Shop in Texas for 2024 and 2025
  • No. 4 position at the Top Sandwich Shop in the U.S. for 2025

City Place is a 2,000-acre project that includes a thoughtfully designed neighborhood, a mixed-use area, and commercial properties. As reported by Community Impact, the entire development initially started as Springwoods Village in 2008 and later changed its name to City Place in 2021. In addition to ExxonMobil, the site also hosts Hewlett Packard Enterprise, St. Luke’s Hospital, and other prominent companies.
