Travelers quickly flocked to X to express their complaints or praise. However, it turns out the highly controversial post wasa little bit of a joke.

“Tampa International Airport frequently posts humorous and satirical content on social media as part of our continuous initiative to connect with our audience,” Tampa International Airport said to Fox News Digital when asked for a statement.

“Today’s post regarding ‘banning’ pajamas was yet another lighthearted reference to discussions about travel-day attire,” it continued.

Even so, travelers descended on X to share their outrage.

“What type of authoritarian nonsense is this?” one follower criticized.

“What makes you consider clothing as pajamas in the first place? Are sweatpants, yoga pants, or kids wearing soft clothes considered pajamas?” the traveler continued.

Another individual who was traveling had a different opinion about everything.

A third user added, “If they don’t have a bad odor and aren’t disturbing anyone, why are you all so concerned? Can you concentrate on properly cleaning your bathrooms and making the TSA lines move faster?”

The Tampa Airport ended its message by stating, “We understand this choice might cause inconvenience to someone in your life. It’s time to have a tough discussion with them. You’re capable of doing this. We (and Phoebe) have confidence in you.”

“The insanity ends today. The initiative begins immediately,” the post continued.

Others held a different view. One person stated, “Bring back class to sailing. For the more upscale restaurants, it’s not too much to expect guests to wear slacks and a neat shirt.

Another remarked, “Well done on the updated dress codes for restaurants!”

In November, U.S. Secretary of TransportationSean Duffyhe mentioned he had observed “a decline in politeness” among airline passengers — and initiated what he referred to as a “politeness initiative” to promote kindness and tolerance during the busy period of holiday travel.

Duffy urged visitors to “express gratitude and politeness towards our pilots and flight attendants” and to “dress in a manner that shows respect.”
