The Arlington amusement park is marking its 65th anniversary this year with a full-year celebration, featuring new entertainment options, widespread improvements throughout the park, and a record-breaking roller coaster.

What’s new at Six Flags Over Texas this season?

Several timeless attractions have been updated with new features, including:

  • El Aserradero
  • Runaway Mine Train
  • Silver Star Carousel
  • The Cup’s Festival
  • Six Flags and the Texas Railroad

The most significant improvement that Six Flags has finished this year is the renovation of the Southern Palace Theatre.

A top-tier indoor performance space is now located in the park, featuring new seating arrangements, enhanced sound and lighting systems, better guest movement, and a larger capacity for more sophisticated entertainment.

Speaking about entertainment, Six Flags will present new performances and one popular show that is making a return this season:

  • Corn dogs made fresh by hand, along with spiral-cut fries and other treats, are available near the Crazy Horse Saloon in Texas.
  • Bread with cinnamon sugar at Los Dulces and Etienne’s.
  • Smoked chicken wings from JB’s Smokehouse, flavored with house-made seasonings.
  • The latest Outlaw Dog featuring a jalapeño and cheese sausage.
  • New treats available at Smith Street Ice Cream Parlor including sundaes, banana splits, handcrafted waffle cones, and super-sized milkshakes.

Lastly, Six Flags Over Texas will introduce its “unique excitement ride”Tormenta Rampaging Runlater this year.

The ride, which exceeds 300 feet in height, will be recognized by the park as the tallest, fastest, longest, and first-ever “giga” dive coaster globally. This upcoming attraction will be situated in a new Spanish village named Rancho de la Tormenta within the park’s Spain-themed section.

Six Flags Texas admission tickets

For a short period this spring, the park is offering its gold pass (usually priced at $99) at the cost of a silver pass, which is $70.

Both tickets have certain commonalitiesFree general parking, discounted tickets for friends, 10% off food and souvenirs, and unlimited park entries for the remainder of the year. However, the gold pass provides entry to Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park events, as well as access to all Six Flags and Schlitterbahn parks in Texas and Oklahoma.

Daily tickets are also available for families who wish to visit on particular days.

What are the operating hours for Six Flags Over Texas?

Six Flags Over Texas will begin its 2026 season on Saturday, February 28.

From that point, the park will be open on weekends (Friday to Sunday) for most of the spring season. During spring break, which is the week of March 16-20, the park will be open every day.

The park will start opening every day in late May for the summer season.
