Emerald City Comic Con
Emerald City Comic Con is currently taking place and will continue through the weekend. This popular event brings together fans of pop culture with a wide range of panels, workshops, and opportunities to meet famous guests such as William Shatner and Hayden Christensen. These celebrities will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans, making it a memorable experience for all. Tickets are still available for those who haven’t yet secured their spot at this celebration of entertainment and creativity.
CID Lunar New Year Celebration
The Chinatown-International District (CID) is hosting a Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday. The main event will take place at Hing Hay Park, where attendees can enjoy a food walk featuring more than 40 restaurants and businesses from around the CID. There will also be live performances, including Lion Dances and martial arts demonstrations, as well as numerous vendors offering unique items for sale. Admission to the event is free, making it an accessible way to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Northwest Record Show
The Seattle Center Armory will be the venue for the Northwest Record Show on Sunday. This event offers over 50 tables filled with records, CDs, collectibles, and more. The show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is $3. However, visitors can get a dollar off their ticket by bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to Northwest Harvest. For those who want to arrive early, advanced tickets are available that grant entry at 8 a.m.
Festival of Color
On Sunday in Redmond, the Festival of Color will be held at Redmond City Hall. This vibrant event features color throwing every half hour, along with color contests, raffles, flash mobs, and plenty of food and dancing. The festival is free to attend, but registration is required in advance through the event’s website.
Kent Kids Arts Day
For families looking for a creative activity, Kent Kids Arts Day is taking place on Saturday at the Kent Commons in Kent. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids from preschool through fourth grade can participate in 12 different hands-on art projects led by professional artists. The event costs $10 per child, while adults and children under the age of 2 can attend for free. There will also be live music and food vendors to keep the whole family entertained.
Lacey Cultural Celebration
The City of Lacey is hosting the Lacey Cultural Celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Martin’s University. Attendees can enjoy music and dance performances from local and regional groups, sample food from around the world, and browse craft vendors. There will also be crafts for children, who can “travel the world” with a passport that, once filled up, can win a prize. The event is free to attend.
International Women’s Day Events
Sunday marks International Women’s Day, and several events are planned throughout the weekend to honor the occasion. On Saturday, the Edmonds International Women’s Day lunch will take place at the Edmonds Waterfront Center from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additionally, at noon on Saturday, the W Seattle will host See Her Be Her, an all-day event celebrating women in electronic music. On Sunday, Seattle’s Women’s March will begin at 11 a.m. at Cal Anderson Park.
Seattle Kraken Game
Finally, on Saturday, the Seattle Kraken will face off against the Ottawa Senators at the Climate Pledge Arena. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m., making it a great opportunity for sports fans to enjoy a night of hockey.
