Tucked just across the railroad tracks from the Sacramento River waterfront in historic Old Sacramento, this arcade is housed in a building surrounded by brick structures, wooden slate porches, and tall, western-style swinging doors. Inside, the dimly lit space is illuminated by vibrant, prismatic lights that dance across the dozens of pinball machines.
The parlor is a perfect destination for those seeking affordable fun. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the sounds of roughly 40 pinball machines, creating a harmonious and welcoming atmosphere. Inside, people of all ages were laughing and playing, some deeply focused on their games while others enjoyed other arcade classics interspersed among the pinball machines.
A friendly staff member is stationed behind a counter on the right side of the building, which also serves as a small bar. During my visit, customers could choose from a selection of drinks including a blonde ale, red lager, Modelo beer, and hard kombucha lemonade. Snacks were available from a vending machine featuring candy and chips, while another machine offered a variety of soda and juice options such as Mountain Dew, coffee, and Coca Cola.
There is limited inside seating, with tables scattered throughout the parlor. At the center of the space is a large rectangular table with several stools, ideal for groups to gather, chat, and take a break. Parking is available in front of the parlor and nearby businesses, making it easily accessible.

While I’m not typically a fan of kombucha, this particular drink had a light, sweet flavor that I would recommend to anyone. What truly impressed me was how the parlor functions as an interactive history museum, showcasing the evolution of pinball machines from the pre-1980s era.
As I played different machines, I observed how game technology evolved over the decades, with changes in speed, mini games, and design. Some machines even shook to add extra challenges, while others featured mid-game displays that required players to dodge asteroids using flipper buttons, like the “Star Wars” machine. Others were inspired by modern films such as “Guardians of the Galaxy” and role-playing games like “Dungeons and Dragons.”
My favorite machine was “Revenge from Mars,” which combined a pinball game with an arcade alien fighter game and was illuminated with striking red, green, and teal colors. Although it was slower than some newer models, the creativity and attention to detail by the designers were evident.
