What’s happening, Eugene? The final week of February has arrived, and the weather prediction indicates rain, rain, and even more rain. Fortunately, our lively arts community offers plenty of events this week to keep us occupied. Here are five ways to connect with the community, view interesting things, and remain dry despite the rain.
A weekend filled with dance shows is scheduled at The Hult Center, featuring The Eugene Youth Ballet and Ballet Fantastique. A fun-filled weekend is approaching The Jazz Station, while bacon treats and Boneyard IPAs will be available at the beergarden. Classic cult films and other intriguing movies are set to screen at Art House, and a folk musician will be performing at the WOW Hall.
Spend the weekend dancing at The Hult Center
Three events focused on dancing will take place at The Hult Center towards the end of February. The Eugene Youth Ballet will start the series with Shine Bright on February 27 at 7 p.m., presenting an energetic lineup of original choreography created by the Eugene Ballet Youth Faculty. The performance will include a group of 58 dancers, aged between 7 and 18.
The following evening, the Eugene Youth Ballet will return to the stage at 7 p.m. for its 12th annual master dance series. This show will feature over 100 dancers, choreographers, instructors, and artistic directors from across the state.
Ballet Fantastique will also be performing at The Hult Center on Saturday night, presenting The Little Mermaid in a way that has never been seen before. This neon-filled, ’80s-style version will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on February 28 and at 2:30 p.m. on March 1 in the Silva Concert Hall.

Groove at The Jazz Station
The Jazz Station is offering an exciting schedule of events this week, featuring Attila Csikos and Zsofia Tardy on Feb. 26 as they present Balkan and bebop music, followed by Trio Subtonic on Feb. 28 with their experimental and boundary-pushing jazz. The Idit Shner Quartet will also be performing on Feb. 27 with lively, energetic rhythms. Every evening’s show, starting at 7:30 p.m., promises a distinct musical style and atmosphere.

Bacon, Bluegrass, and Boneyard at beergarden
A sensory delight! The Bacon, Bluegrass and Boneyard beer festival kicks off on Feb. 26 at beergarden, offering bacon and beer to your mouth and bluegrass music to your ears.
The food trucks at beergarden are preparing something unique and particularly delicious for the weekend, featuring bacon in one of their dishes. Boneyard Beer will be serving up their taps, offering 18 different beers to sample. Additionally, there will be four nights of bluegrass music on the main stage!

See a cult movie at the Art House
No matter what kind of film you’re looking to watch, there will be something playing at Art House this week. The two-screen theater features an impressive schedule, including “C.H.U.D.” for Horrible Bingo on February 25 and 26, and “Les Bonnes Femmes” set to screen on February 27 as the latest addition to the series.French New Wave Series.

Join in singing at WOW Hall
Carsie Blanton will perform at WOW Hall on February 27 at 6 p.m., offering “hooks, courage, and hopeful determination” on the main stage.
