Fans from across the country, including those from Massachusetts and nearby areas, gathered at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee, for the 11th annual Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival. The event kicked off under ideal conditions, with sunny skies and temperatures around 80 degrees welcoming attendees on its first day.
For many, this was their first time experiencing the festival. Kristina Cliffe and Jessica Heller, friends from Massachusetts, shared their excitement about visiting Franklin for the first time. “This is our first time at the festival and to Franklin, and so far we are really enjoying our visit,” they said. As regulars at music festivals, the pair had recently attended an event in Connecticut before deciding to try something new by coming to Franklin. “I’m most excited to see Kings of Leon,” Cliffe added.
Kevin Griffin, the festival organizer and a Franklin resident, has been looking forward to favorable weather this year after last year’s challenging conditions. “As a festival producer, you hope to have weather as amazing as we have this weekend,” Griffin said in an email to The Tennessean. He noted that the positive weather forecast led to a noticeable increase in ticket sales, and he expects high turnout at the box office. “We’re ready, so come on out.”
For Abigal Sommers, a local Franklin resident, the festival is a celebration of her hometown. “A lot of people think of us as a small town, but there’s so much happening here. Pilgrimage allows us to show off our amazing city,” she said.

Local businesses are also participating in the festivities. Shops like Luna Records in The Factory are offering special discounts during the festival. Over the two-day event, thousands will gather in Franklin to enjoy performances by major artists. For those planning to drive, it’s important to be aware of parking changes.
Where can I park?
The parking at The Factory has been reduced, with a section reserved for employees. If you manage to find a spot, the first three hours are free, but after that, a $60 charge applies. However, if you purchase something from The Factory, the fee is discounted to $30. Additionally, free parking is available at several garages in Downtown Franklin. For those seeking closer options, locally-owned lots within a 3-block radius offer parking ranging from $60 to $40.
Who are this year’s headliners?
Kings of Leon will perform on September 27, followed by John Mayer on September 28.
Are last-minute tickets still available?
General admission tickets are still available for purchase, starting at $275.00. Details about the schedule, ticket information, and updates can be found on the official website: www.pilgrimagefestival.com.
