• Hoff-Barthelson Youth Orchestras Present ¡OLÉ! A SALUTE TO SPAIN
A youth orchestra concert is coming to Rye Country Day School on March 21, bringing Hoff-Barthelson’s young musicians to town for a Spanish-themed program. Residents can hear works by de Falla, Sarasate, Bizet and others, plus concerto performances by two student competition winners, with $15 general admission tickets available via Eventbrite.
• Local Climbing Legend Brian McGillicuddy Presumed Dead in Scottish Avalanche
Rye is mourning Brian Munro McGillicuddy, a renowned climber who grew up here and is presumed to have died in an avalanche while ice climbing in Scotland. A Mass in Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye on Saturday, March 14, 2026, as family, friends, and the climbing community honor his adventurous spirit and generosity.
• Westchester County announces company leading airport terminal upgrades
Westchester County has tapped infrastructure firm HNTB to lead long-awaited modernization of the Westchester County Airport terminal, aiming to ease crowding and improve seating, restrooms and food options. Rye residents are represented in the planning by Legislator Nancy Barr, whose district includes Rye and who notes the outdated, pre‑9/11 layout will finally be rethought without expanding flights or airport capacity.
