New Coffee Spots in South Jersey to Try This Fall
As the weather begins to cool down, there’s no better time to enjoy a warm cup of coffee. Whether you’re celebrating National Coffee Day or just looking for a new place to grab your favorite caffeine fix, South Jersey has several exciting new spots to explore. From cozy cafes to hidden gems, these places are sure to satisfy your coffee cravings.
By Zena’s European Cafe and Boutique Patisserie
Located at 41 East Main Street in Moorestown, By Zena’s European Cafe and Boutique Patisserie opened in early September. This charming spot offers a wide array of baked goods, including award-winning cheesecakes, pastries, desserts, and savory items for breakfast and lunch. The cafe also serves a variety of coffee options, from drip coffee to espresso drinks and even Turkish coffee. With both indoor and outdoor seating available, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee. The cafe is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Early Bird
At 519 Howard Street in Riverton, The Early Bird is set to undergo a transformation. The new owners, who also run Common Grounds in Oaklyn, will expand the menu to include more coffee drinks, such as coffee flights, along with a breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu. The café is scheduled to reopen on Friday, October 3rd, offering a fresh start for coffee lovers in the area.
Wildfether Distilling
Wildfether Distilling, located at 236 Kings Hwy E in Haddonfield, is making waves with its new daytime offerings. As the town’s first and only distillery, it now serves coffee drinks and fresh scones from Sunflour Bakeshop. The menu features classic coffee drinks and seasonal lattes, all made with in-house syrups used for their cocktails. There is both indoor seating and a porch at the rear of the building. Wildfether Distilling is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day.
Re Cafe
Re Cafe, situated at 226 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill, recently opened next to Tiger Schulmann’s Martial Arts center. This coffee bar offers beans from Bucks County Coffee Co. for its drip coffee and espresso drinks. It operates Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Coffee Malem
Tucked away in a commercial strip off Route 70 in Cherry Hill, Coffee Malem is a hidden gem that many locals know about. The “Experience Bar” on Deer Road serves La Colombe Coffee and espresso, creating lattes, cappuccinos, and other specialty beverages. The Spanish latte has recently gained popularity on the SJFS Facebook group. While the hours are limited, the E-Bar is generally open during morning and afternoon hours on weekdays. It’s also available on DoorDash, so be sure to check there first.
Cafe Crema
Cafe Crema, located at 100 S Broadway in Gloucester City, opened in June and brings an 80s-themed vibe to the downtown area. This coffee shop serves coffee, espresso drinks, savory breakfast, lunch, and sweets. While it primarily operates as a take-out business, there are some outdoor seating options available.
Café Espresso
In Riverside, Café Espresso is a charming Italian coffee shop that opened in the spring. It serves espresso drinks made from beans imported from Italy and ground fresh on-site. The café also offers a selection of Italian desserts, pastries, and gelato, making it a great spot for a quick bite or a relaxing coffee break.
Harbor Coffee House
Harbor Coffee House, located at 151 Route 47 N in Cape May Court House, opened in May and is a must-visit for coffee lovers in Cape May County. It offers coffee drinks made with roasted beans from Philadelphia, along with gourmet bakery treats and a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items.

Several new spots are set to open soon, including Happy Place Homemade in Medford and Struggle Monkey in Medford. Haraz Coffee House in Marlton is also expected to join the list of local coffee shops.
