KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The 2025 Johnson County Fair in Kansas has officially begun, offering a week filled with rodeo activities, amusement park rides, local contests, and entertainment.
The Johnson County Fair takes place from July 26 to August 2 at the fairgrounds situated at 136 E. Washington Street in Gardner, Kansas. Visitors canfind a complete and fair schedule here. Admission is free.
But there’s a lot more you should be aware of before heading to the fair:
Carnival
The fair is open Tuesday to Saturday between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., with an earlier start at 4 p.m. on both Tuesday and Saturday.
Each carnival ticket costs $1, and the majority of rides require 4 to 5 tickets. Wristbands are priced at $30 from Tuesday to Friday and $35 on Saturdays.
Parade
The Johnson County Fair parade begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will take place regardless of the weather. In case of extreme conditions, the fair organizers will make a decision by 7:30 a.m. on whether to cancel the parade.
The central theme for this year is “Follow the yellow brick road to the Johnson County Fair.”
The path begins at Gardner Edgerton High School, proceeds along Madison Street, then continues to Center Street and Shawnee Street, concluding at Wheatridge Middle School.
Live music
Don’t misstwo nights of musicStarting Friday, August 1, at 7 p.m., showcasing timeless hits and appearances by Creedence Clearwater KC, The John Cougar Project, and the Steve Miller Experience.
Saturday’s schedule features Casey Donahew, Hayden Coffman, Colby Lee Swift, and Tim Nowell.
On Sunday morning, a church service will take place at the Memorial Building in Gardner.
Live Pro Wresting
Trailblazer Championship Wrestlingis presenting the thrilling, intense, and heart-pounding action at the 2025 Johnson County Fair on Wednesday, July 30, at 6 p.m.
“The Voice of the Trailblazer” will be none other than FOX4’s own Marcus Officer, who will be announcing all the action in the ring from the newly updated announcer’s booth above the main area. Tickets are just $10.
Rodeo
Rodeo Gold Productions, based in Louisburg, will host the event on Thursday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Admission costs $12 for individuals aged 12 and above, $6 for children between 6 and 12, and is free for children 5 and younger.
On Tuesday evening, children 12 years old and younger can join the excitement of mutton busting and greased pig competitions. Admission is complimentary.
Motorsports
On Saturday evening, the Johnson County Fair arena will host a night of racing.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, the Demolition Derby will start. The prize money for the winners is $11,000. Ticket prices are $15 for everyone.
Competitions, exhibits
Hundreds of 4-H members and other attendees will take part in different animal-related contests and displays.
Visitors can watch dog exhibitions, rabbit demonstrations, baking competitions, and numerous animal events featuring cattle, pigs, horses, and other livestock.
