The skyline of Jacksonville is set to transform into a flying stage. and is welcoming a DroneArt show this weekend.
If you’re anywhere near EverBank StadiumOn Friday or Saturday evening, glance upward. A collection of illuminated drones will ascend hundreds of feet into the sky, creating large three-dimensional images — such as a towering ballerina — all synchronized with live classical music.
The drones will operate over a region next to Tailgaters Parking, ascending up to 400 feet above the ground. The glowing patterns will cover hundreds of feet in the sky, allowing them to be seen from beyond the event location — although those with tickets will have the optimal view and complete sound quality.
Here’s what you need to be aware ofthis advanced, unique outdoor adventure.
What is the 1,000-DroneArt performance? How does it function?
Jeremy Sutherland, the U.S. program manager for Fever, stated that each drone in the fleet can be completely programmed with RGB colors, enabling designers to create any color they can imagine. When working together, the drones act as individual points of light in a large sky-based display. “Each one is basically a pixel in the air,” he mentioned.
The drones are completely programmed to carry out specific formations. Although no individual is piloting them during the show, trained personnel are present to oversee the system and work with the FAA and local authorities to maintain safe air space permissions.
What time is the DroneArt performance?

This is more than just a visual display; it’s an integrated musical performance. The performers, set against a backdrop of candlelight, need to adhere to a precise schedule to ensure perfect synchronization with the drone movements above.
