JACKSON, NJ — Following seven years, Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Great Adventure is coming to an end.
Six Flags representatives verified that the light display, which began in 2017 at Great Adventure, will not be making a comeback for the 2025 holiday period or later. Furthermore, representatives also confirmed that the launch of the newly planned roller coaster at Great Adventure has been pushed back to 2027.
The news isn’t entirely negative: Six Flags is introducing a company-wide season pass initiative that enables individuals to buy passes valid for the rest of 2025 and all of 2026, granting access to every theme park within the Six Flags Entertainment corporation. The pass program is intended to mark the anniversary of the Six Flags-Cedar Fair merger, according to the company.
The end of Holiday in the Park was due to extensive research, according to park officials.
We have chosen to prioritize providing outstanding guest experiences throughout our main operating season — from spring to fall,” a representative stated. “This change enables us to direct our attention and resources during the period when most of our visitors come to Great Adventure, and the weather is typically more favorable for ensuring a pleasant and unforgettable visit for everyone.
“We are aware that fall is one of the most beloved seasons, and we can’t wait to greet visitors at Fright Fest for even more excitement and spooky fun! Information about this year’s celebration will be released soon,” the representative stated.
One piece of information park officials provided is that season passholders for 2025 will be given one Bring-a-Friend ticket to use this fall during Fright Fest.
Regarding the roller coaster initiative, construction has started, but officials mentioned that the project’s world-class scale and magnitude will result in a longer completion time than initially expected, officials stated.

The exclusive season pass promotion, available starting Tuesday, provides unlimited entry to over 40 Six Flags Entertainment Corporation locations for the rest of 2025 and the entire year of 2026.

All 2026 Six Flags Great Adventure Gold and Prestige Passes acquired or extended from Tuesday, July 29 to September 1 will feature the multi-park access as part of its “MVP (Most Valuable Pass) Sale.”
The sale will feature:
- Lowest prices of the year along with free parking
- 2026 Gold Pass buyers will receive one complimentary 2025 bring-a-friend ticket.
- 2026 Prestige Pass acquisitions will feature two additional 2025 free-to-bring-a-friend tickets
- Tickets for a friend are valid until the conclusion of the 2025 season at the park where the pass was acquired.
- Guests are required to buy by September 1 in order to access these promotions. Prices will go up on September 2.
“Through this new MVP access, visitors can embark on the ultimate road trip and discover all that the newly launched Six Flags Entertainment has to provide throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico,” officials stated.

Parks that will be part of the 2026 Gold Passes near you are Six Flags New England, Kings Dominion, and Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.
Starting on September 2, individuals who buy Gold or Prestige season passes for 2026 will have to acquire the All Park Passport add-on in order to enter all Six Flags Entertainment parks. Officials mentioned that certain limitations are in place.
