Fort Worth ISD’s spring breaktakes place from March 16 to March 20. With events like Stockyards crawfish boils or kayaking at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors.
One method is to go to theFort Worth Zoo.
Last year, the zoo experiencedmore than 158,000 guests From March 8 through March 23. This year, with the spring break camp and discounted Wednesdays, visitors should anticipate another busy period.
Here’s what visitors to the zoo during spring break can anticipate.
Spring break program at the Fort Worth Zoo
During spring vacation, the Fort Worth Zoo is providingan all-day campTo help children learn more about animals and wildlife preservation, families can sign up by March 12.
The camp is scheduled to run from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with a break on Wednesday, March 18, when there will be no activities.
Campers may choose to attend for one day or all four days. The fee is $85 per day or $335 if attending all four days.
To sign up, you need to set up a family profile on the Fort Worth Zoo’s website. After logging in, you will be able to enroll in zoo camps.
When is ticket pricing the most affordable at Fort Worth Zoo?
The Fort Worth Zoo provides a 50% discount on Wednesdays throughout the year.
The cost for non-member adults aged 13 through 64 is $22. Children 12 and younger and seniors 65 and older pay $18.
On Wednesdays, these costs are reduced by half. Anadult ticket is $11, andChildren and seniors pay $8.
Once you buy a purchase a ticket in advance online– which is what the zoo suggests, particularly during spring break – it is valid for 30 days.
Parking is $5and may be obtained at ticket counters found in the parking areas.
Tips for spring break visitors at Fort Worth Zoo
- Note thatfrom March 14 to March 22, the ticket booth lines will be longer than usual. Purchase tickets online in advance.
- The zoo’s parking areas are situated at 1989 Colonial Parkway. Avoid parking in nearby residential zones or business parking lots.
- Give yourself additional time for traffic.
- A representative from the zoo informed the Star-Telegram that they intend to have law enforcement officers assist with managing traffic and parking.
- The zoo operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. They suggest arriving just when it opens or planning a visit in the afternoon, as thecrowds are largest during lunch hours.
- Visitors can view the entire zoo in four hours.
- Food and beverages in small coolers outsideare allowedin the park.
- No glass containers, alcoholic beverages, or single-use lids and straws are permitted.
Animals to observe at the Fort Worth Zoo
The Fort Worth Zoo features over 7,000 animals for visitors to observe.
In September, the zoo welcomed a baby elephant named Lady BirdShe resides with her mother Bluebonnet, father Romeo, and four-year-old brother Brazos. Guests can view her every day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Other zoo infants, all born in October 2025, include Pancake, Imara, and Tamu. Pancake is the nearly 6-foot giraffe calf. He is the smallest calf to be born at the Fort Worth Zoo, which inspired his name. AndImara and Tamu, are a pair of young lions. Another interesting young animal to observe is the 2-year-old gorilla called Bruno.
For engaging experiences, the Zoo offers aHerpetarium(The Museum of Living Art, MOLA) that visitors can explore every day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., where they can discover and engage with reptiles. Additionally, there is a Bait Shack touch tank located in the Texas Wild exhibit.
