Disneyland and Disney World are honoring Black History Month by introducing unique experiences at both locations. Throughout this month, visitors can enjoy live performances, exclusive food items, special exhibits, and other activities.
From the yearly “Celebrate Gospel” performances at the Disneyland Resort to special menu items available at both parks, there are a variety of experiences for guests to enjoy. Gospel Music Events at Downtown Disney

Disneyland is presenting its yearly Celebrate Gospel concerts during two weekends in February: February 20-21 and February 27-28. This year, the shows will be held at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and are available to the general public without needing a theme park ticket.
Grammy Award-winning gospel musicians Bishop Hezekiah Walker (February 21) and Yolanda Adams (February 28) will take the stage. Local choirs from throughout Southern California are also set to perform during the event over both weekends.
Black History Month Exhibits at Disneyland Resort

As part of Black History Month, the Disneyland Resort has launched a heritage tour that includes exhibits throughout the resort. The exhibits showcase notable Black leaders, artists, and innovators from both past and present times.
Locations feature Frontierland, Main Street, U.S.A., and Buena Vista Street, along with other sections. Notable people include Leah Chase at Tiana’s Place, Martha Blanding on Main Street, U.S.A., and Disney animator Floyd Norman on Buena Vista Street. Visitors can view the exhibits during February at various sites.

Unique Food and Drink Options at Disneyland Resort

Certain dining spots at Disneyland Resort are featuring special menu items through March 2 to celebrate Black History Month.
At Tiana’s Palace, visitors can purchase the French Quarter Fried Chicken Bowl, which includes honey-basted fried chicken served with baked macaroni and cheese and collard greens.
At Lamplight Lounge- Boardwalk Dining, the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp consists of shrimp coated in Cajun seasoning, served alongside polenta, onions, peppers, celery, and a New Orleans-style BBQ butter sauce.
Toya Johnson-Rushing Makes Appearance at Magic Kingdom for Black History Month Launch

TV personality Toya Johnson-Rushing recently made an appearance at Magic Kingdom as part of Walt Disney World’s Black History Month events.
Johnson-Rushing was the grand marshal of a special parade on Main Street, U.S.A., alongside Mickey Mouse and her daughter, Reign. This event kicked off the resort’s February celebrations. While visiting, Johnson-Rushing and her family also enjoyed various attractions, such as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and a meeting with Princess Tiana.
Black Creators Highlighted at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

During February, EPCOT showcases a variety of Black artists as part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Notable Black artists featured are Yesenia Mouses, Ryan Riller, Larissa Brown, and Mark Page. Their artwork is on display throughout the festival, and entry is included with standard park admission.
Disney on Broadway Concert Series at EPCOT

The Disney on Broadway Concert Series makes a comeback at EPCOT as part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Shows are held at the America Gardens Theatre.
Black artists Jelani Remy (The Lion King), Anastasia McCleskey (Tarzan), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King), and James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin) have all taken part this year. The concert series takes place on certain evenings throughout the festival and is available with standard park entry.
Entertainment Featuring Live Music and Dance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Guests can experience live entertainment across Disney’s Animal Kingdom this February. Viva Gaia offers a Caribbean-themed street party on Discovery Island featuring music and dance performances. In the Africa area of the park, the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe present percussion shows throughout the day. The entertainment is part of standard park admission, with showtimes changing daily.
Special Food Deals Available at Walt Disney World for a Limited Time

Walt Disney World Resort is featuring special time-sensitive food options to honor Black History Month.
At the Ganachery located in Disney Springs, the Soulful New York Cheesecake pop consists of layers of cheesecake ganache and graham cracker ganache, all covered in 65% dark chocolate. It can be found until February 28.
At Amorette’s Patisserie located in Disney Springs, the Wakandan Mousse features coconut mousse, guava gelee, and chocolate sable. It will be available until February 28.
Black Artists Highlighted at Disney Springs Art Walk

Disney Springs showcases Black artists via the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression. The featured artists are Ernest Shaw, Nneka Jones, Marci Swett, and Brandon Hill. Their artwork is showcased across Disney Springs as part of the continuous art exhibit.
