Allegiant Air has been rapidly expanding in 2025, and recently revealed its newest destination: Fort Myers, Florida.
Beginning in November, the low-cost airline will introduce new nonstop flights departing from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) to three destinations: Allenton, Pennsylvania; Appleton, Wisconsin, and Des Moines, Iowa.
For Allegiant, Fort Myers is a new airport in an area it knows well.

The airline already has a wide range of routes departing from Punta Gorda, which is located less than 40 miles north of RSW, in Florida’s Charlotte County.
These three new flights departing from Florida’s coastline are included in a broader, seven-route growth plan announced Monday night by the airline, which is recognized for its connections between smaller cities and popular vacation spots — many of which are not widely famous.
Receiving new Allegiant flights starting Monday: the Gulf Coast of Alabama, along with cities in Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa — not to mention New Orleans.
All the new flights begin in mid-November, before this year’s holiday travel period.

A year of growth in 2025
For Allegiant, these new routes set to begin in November continue a year marked by the airline expanding its flight offerings, including ablockbuster 44-route expansionthe carrier initially revealed it last year.
It’s a key element of the carrier’s well-established approach, focusing more on locations such as Gulf Shores — a 2025 debut spot on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, far from the Florida panhandle.
“It’s an ideal location for the Allegiant network,” said Drew Wells, chief commercial officer, speaking on July 9 from the airline’s Las Vegas headquarters.

We are aware that many people are driving for four, six, or even twelve hours to spend their vacation there,” Wells said. “It’s wonderful to transform that drive into a hassle-free flight.
Clearly, Gulf Shores was among several cities that received new routes in this announcement.
Toledo, Ohio will now include four Florida locations starting in November. Fort Wayne, Indiana will offer Allegiant flights to five cities in the Sunshine State. Des Moines will have seven.
Allegiant flight discounts
To mark the launch, the airline announced it will provide reduced prices from now until July 30, with some routes starting at as low as $49 one-way. Travelers need to book flights for trips scheduled between now and February 10, 2026.
Looking ahead
Although Allegiant has generally been recognized for having fewer amenities and limited in-flight entertainment, the airline’s CEO stated to TPG this month that the carrier isconsidering the addition of in-flight internet connectivityto its aircraft. The company has engaged in discussions, he mentioned, with Starlink — the same service that United Airlines iscurrently in the process of setting up on its jets.
