Dessie Evans Elementary in Puyallup briefly went into a modified lockdown on Thursday after a student exhibited aggressive behavior on the playground. Staff secured exterior doors for approximately 18 minutes as a precaution. No one was injured, and no weapons or police were involved. The situation has since been resolved, and the school has returned to normal operations.

Emerald Ridge’s Upset Sets Up a Showdown

Puyallup basketball fans are buzzing after Emerald Ridge stunned top-seeded Mount Si with a 67-62 victory. This upset sends the Jaguars into the 4A semifinals, where they will face Gonzaga Prep. The team’s balanced scoring and fast start were key factors in their win.
